Increase the salaries to US Congressmen and Senators to $750,000 for Congressmen and $1,250,000 for Senators. We will give all senators Secret Service protection which will record all meetings and calls and report back to the executive branch to make sure they do not take any bribes or engage in any illegal or inappropriate activities.
Any riders they would lie to add to bills must go through a department to be created to draft bills This will be an apolitical department made up of people who are currently working for the government and people who will be hired. Their job is to find the most cost-efficient way to deliver services to our citizens and draft bills to be send to Congress for approval. Any riders suggested by Congress must be returned to them for approval. They will confirm that the rider applies to the bill being proposed, will not adversely impact the cost of the bill, is not designed to help a specific constituent. The rider will then be sent to the Government Accounting Office to provide a cost for the rider and how much it will increase the cost of the bill.
I also see this as a way to differentiate our candidates to increase their chance of being voted into office. We will run candidates who will agree to these provisions against candidates that declined to approve these changes.
